Dimitris Baltas is a PhD candidate at the Products and System Design Department at the Aegean University in the field of ‘Interactive Mixed Reality Dance Performances’. He holds a BSc/MSc Degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, an MA in Interactive Media, University of the Arts, London, an MA in Lighting Design, Hellenic Open University and an MA in Digital Arts, Athens School of Fine Arts.
He has worked as a web developer for various studios in Greece and Spain, while he has also designed the lighting for theater and dance performances. He performs and gives classes in dance and aerial acrobatics.
His research is focused on the ways that art and digital technology can communicate and coexist, in performative or urban spaces, creating new experiences for the public.
