The course focuses on providing students with specialized knowledge in research methodology for investigating user experience (with an emphasis on usability and accessibility), as well as in evaluating interaction techniques in advanced interactive technologies and applications, along with the phenomena that emerge from the process.
Key topics of the course include: generalized methodology for user experience evaluation (research questions, procedure, sampling, statistical tests, reporting), issues of usability and user experience in advanced interfaces (indicatively: gesture-based, mobile and wearable devices, extended reality, etc.), and issues of digital accessibility and assistive technologies.
The course laboratory and exercises involve usability and user experience evaluation, interaction techniques, etc., as well as critical review of contemporary literature from conferences and journals in the field.
