Dr. G. Koronis is an Assistant Professor in the Product & Systems Design Engineering Department at the University of the Aegean. He completed his Ph.D. in engineering design and advanced manufacturing techniques at the University of Lisbon in Portugal in 2014.
At the University of the Aegean, Dr. Koronis is involved in teaching and mentoring students in various aspects of product and systems design engineering. He brings his vast knowledge and expertise to various courses, including Design Theory and Methodology, Concept and Preliminary Product Design, Detail Product Design
He is a distinguished scholar in the field of engineering design with a broad range of research interests. His research areas include design science, design creativity, design theory, ideation, material and technology selection, composite characterization, sustainable design, and cost modeling.
He has published over 25 peer-reviewed papers in international journals, book chapters, and conference proceedings. His work has been cited more than 2,490 times, with an h-index of 12 and an i10-index of 13. Since 2020, his research has attracted over 1,700 citations, highlighting its continued relevance and influence.
Dr. Koronis has made notable contributions to the understanding and advancement of design creativity, especially in the context of stimulating innovative thinking through structured design processes. His research supports the development of creative skills in design education and the integration of sustainable and technological considerations into design practice.
