Z. Koutkalaki is a graduate of Industrial Design Engineering Department at University of Applied Sciences in Western Macedonia (2010). She has completed post-graduate studies (MSc) in "Design of Interactive & Industrial Products and Systems" (2012) and is a PhD candidate of the Department of Product and Systems Design Engineering of the University of the Aegean with an original dissertation title "Three dimensional (3D) designing of the human foot and analysis on stresses and forces during walking with shoes". She is also performing an ancillary work from 2012 to date in laboratory courses.
Research Interests:
- Parametric Feature-Based Modeling of Human Foot from CT and MRI scans.
- Foot analysis on stresses and forces during walking with shoes or barefoot.
- Dynamic human foot behavior due to diabetes mellitus and osteoporosis.
