Library
All the operations of the Library (lending, orders, cataloguing, catalogue searching, journals, etc.) are automated. It is possible to search the whole of the University Library through the website http://www.lib.aegean.gr
The Departmental Library is housed in the renovated 1st Gymnasium of Syros, founded in 1833 as the 1st Gymnasium of Greece. This Library is a branch of the Central Library of the University which is located in Mytilini. It operates as a lending Library and the operating hours are daily from 9.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m.
Presently the Departmental Library contains approximately:
- 700 titles. The greatest part of the collection is related to the following scientific fields: Product Design, History of Design and Technology, Computer Design, Virtual Reality, Informatics and Information Systems, Software Technologies, Fine Arts and Mathematics. The aim is to serve the teaching and research needs of the Department. The collection is mostly in the English language with some Greek language titles as well.
- 10 foreign and 20 Greek language periodicals.
- Reference material (Encyclopedias, Dictionaries etc.)
- Audiovisual material.
- Access to on-line journals.
